- Analyze the trauma related admissions to the hospital to identify accidents eligible for a hospital lien
- Prepare and file the lien within the guidelines established by the applicable lien law
- Review police reports, when required, to determine the identity of and possible insurance available from the party responsible for the admit
- Educate and assist the patient with the process to ensure they pursue the responsible party, with their own attorney if necessary, to recover an adequate amount to satisfy the hospital bill
- Negotiate with the patient or their attorney on balances where the responsible party's insurance is inadequate to satisfy the hospital lien
- File suit or intervene in pending litigation, when required, to protect the hospital's right to payment under the lien law (Legal services provided by the Law Offices of Hammel & Kaplan, PL)
